What do you love most about owning a super-haute clothing boutique?
Where do we start? I think we both love working with our clients the most, but a close second is going to market and finding haute lines to bring to Lexington!
Spring is right around the corner! What are five must-haves for your wardrobe?
Lauren – I am loving classic Jack Rogers sandals mixed with colorful shorts by Trina Turk or Cynthia Rowley
Kristin – I’d have to say with Keeneland and Derby coming up I love Elva Fields vintage jewelry to update any outfit, and everyone needs colorful wraps and scarves for transitional weather.
What trend can you not get enough of right now?
We love the 1-shoulder look in dresses and tops, as well as short skirts for spring.
What trend could you go without?
We’re in 80′s-overload (outside of a theme party).
Too much neon, and a little shoulder pad can work – but not the MEGA- shoulders!
Favorite designer
Lauren – Tory and Tibi – you can wear these lines for every occasion
Kristin – Kate Spade Clothing- our first pieces just arrived and they are amazing. And- Trina Turk- she’s a classic, and always a great fit.
Style icon
Coco Chanel & Jackie O
What is in your beauty bag?
Lauren- Chanel Lip gloss, Dior mascara, and a hair pin
Kristin- What beauty bag? I have 2 kids, they take up all the space! Seriously though- I’m obsessed with Laura Mercier.
Cocktail of choice
Lauren – Grapefruit juice and Vodka
Kristin – A great glass of Pinot Noir
Never leave home without…
Lauren- my planner
Kristin- iphone
Listening to now….
Lauren - Jersey boys soundtrack- great show we caught on our last buying trip
Kristin- I gotta feeling by black eyed peas and anything by michael buble

VERSAILLES YOUTH RECEIVES VOLUNTEERISM AWARD
Brett Butzer, 14, Named “Volunteer of the Year” by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is proud to announce that Brett Butzer, age 14, of Versailles has been named the organization’s 2010 Volunteer of the Year. Butzer will be recognized with this award at the Community Health Charities “Champions in Health” Awards Dinner on March 2 at the Galt House Hotel & Suites in Louisville.
Butzer became involved with LLS in 2004 after his friend Will Oldham was diagnosed with leukemia. The boys and their families organized a team for the annual Light The Night Walk that fall and their participation has continued to grow each year. To date, Brett has individually raised $29,332 for the cause—$8,100 in 2009 alone. The team as a whole, which is comprised of family members and employees of Markey Cancer Center, has raised more than $86,000 over the last six years.
“We are extremely impressed by Brett’s accomplishments and felt it was our duty to recognize him for his incredible support of our organization,” said Jen Pitts, senior campaign manager with LLS. “Brett’s extraordinary efforts demonstrate that anyone can make a big impact in the community, regardless of his age.”
Butzer is the youngest volunteer to receive this title, an indication of the large extent of his achievements. He has previously been honored as a Radio Disney “Kid of the Month” for outstanding community service.

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper are clearly committed to their roles as the new spokeswoman for the MAC AIDS Fund.
Each has created a lipstick for this super-haute cause: As the WWD reports – Lauper’s is a light coral red, Gaga’s a bubble-gummy pink. Both retail for $14 and will be available in MAC stores in North America beginning this month (global markets will get the colors in March).
Also notable is the fact that for the first time in what the WWD lables “Viva Glam history”, the lipsticks are named for – and after – the women who created them, coupled with their signatures on the lipstick tubes.
