Could you work with your spouse everyday?  Well Dr. Thomas and Lisa do and they are WELLadjusted to it! Dr. Thomas Williams, a Lexington native, recently moved back to Lexington and opened his gorgeous chiropractic wellness center.  If you haven’t met Dr. Thomas yet, or seen his office, it is worth the trip!  First of all you don’t feel like you are in a ‘Doctor’s office’ – it is very calming almost spa-like and they have a work-out area for their FREE WELLclasses – which are available to practice and non-practic members!  In addition to his Chiropractic training, Dr. Thomas is also an AFAA certified personal trainer.  A visit to WELLadjusted isn’t just about your spine – it is about you – it is about your overall wellness.

We caught up with Dr. Thomas and Lisa to ask them some personal questions about their lifestyle!  Read our interview with this business savvy couple to find out more!   Also – be watching our HMS newsletter for the Dr. Thomas Tip of the Week!!!

Favorite vacation spot?
We both love Sunset Beach, NC. This is our yearly family vacation spot. It’s a small island that is about as laid back and family-oriented as it gets. It’s the most relaxing week of our year!

Favorite restaurant?
Locally- Malone’s and Pad Thai
T-Jack Fry’s
L-Tratorria Marcella, St. Louis

Cocktail of choice?
T-Nothing beats an ice cold beer
L-Red wine, especially red blends

Favorite gift to give?
T-unexpected sweet nothings that bring a smile to lisa’s face.
L-I don’t have a particular go to gift. I like to give gifts that have a personal touch- something that I’ve heard the person mention that they wanted and/or needed

Favorite personal item?
T-My mom’s wedding band. I have it on a necklace and wear it on days when I need extra support and guidance.
L-My engagment ring- Thomas designed it!

Style Icon?
T- I have no idea
L-I love the classic icons- Audrey and Jackie O. More current- I’m a big fan of Anne Hathaway’s classic style

Favorite designer?
T- I’m a simple man- nothing beats Banana Republic
L-Chanel, Tahari

How do you define style? Any style Advice?
T-Marry a stylish woman! Really, I think style is about confidence and taking care of yourself.
L- I think style is more about personality and how one carries themselves. My style advice is to keep it simple; and to only follow the fashion trends that suit your personality and body style!

Top of your style / wardrobe wish list?
T- A new tailored suit
L- I’m loving the spring lines at JCrew and Anthropologie

Favorite skin care products?
T- don’t really have one.
L-My favorite products are hair products. I have super thick hair and could not live without Aveda Smooth Infusion products! And, I’m addicted to Aveda’s Hand Therapy.

How do you define true luxury?
T- having everything and wanting nothing
L- being catered to

Favorite mantra?
T- ‘It’s your attitude, not your apptitude, that determines your altitude in life’
L- ‘Above all, be true to yourself’

What motivates you the most? Who inspires you?
T- I am motivated by helping people; watching them transform and begin to do things that they haven’t been able to do for a long time (playing with their kids, running, losing weight, taking their fitness to a new level, sleeping without pain). I am inspired by people who dig deep and decide to take control of their life.

L- I am motivated by seeing results (in myself or others)- big or small. I get a lot of inspiration from Thomas. He has been through a lot, but still has the most optimistic personality.

What do you love most about working together?
T- That Lisa is here sharing in my day, that we are building this together.
L- I love being able to share in the little moments that happen throughout the day ( for me, it’s little moments that signify the most success). And, I love seeing Thomas work with the practice members. He is so good at what he does, and he is such a sincere and caring person- it’s such a great feeling see people connect with him. And, I love our brainstorming sessions. It’s so fun to dream together!!

Any advice to other couples thinking of working together?
Talk ALOT- make sure you both share the same vision and ideals for the business, and that your desired outcomes are aligned. Respect each other’s opinions, ideas and talents. Have patience and support each other. We found that when one of us was having a bad day, the other became even stronger, which helped the situation improve. And, most importantly, make date nights and each other a priority- the business will only be successful if your relationship is strong!

March 11, 2009

Be a part of the largest climate change movement in history:  Earth Hour

voteearth

Participating is easy. On Saturday, March 28th from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m. – wherever you are around the world – hundreds of millions of people in over 500 cities in 75 countries on all 7 continents will turn off their lights for the hour,  “casting their vote” for our elected representatives to take immediate and lasting action in fixing the climate crisis we are facing.

Join Stacy London, Clinton Kelly, Cate Blanchett, Coldplay, and many more!

stacey1clinton1

“Earth Hour won’t fix the fashion foibles facing many people in this world but it will be one giant step to solving the other important crisis facing good and bad dressers alike – climate change,” says Stacy London. “Participating in Earth Hour is your chance to have a say on the direction our planet is heading. It’s like voting in an election, only easier and I encourage the world to join in. With every light you turn off you are signaling that you want your elected officials to take lasting action on this crisis. And just think about how much fun you can have in the dark!”

Favorite Vacation Spot

By far, my favorite place to vacation is The Four Seasons on Maui!

Favorite Restuarant

Locally, my favorite restaurant is Malone’s.

Favorite Cocktail

Marcus Philips Shiraz is a favorite, but  I would also have to add Jalapeño’s Margarita.

Favorite Gift to Give

I like to surprise someone with something they have just mentioned or would like to have and are not expecting.

Favorite Designer

I love Roberto Cavalli’s designs

Style Icon

I always like to see what Halle Berry is wearing, she always looks amazing!

What’s in your Beauty Bag?

My beauty bag is complete with Philip Pelusi cosmetics and hair care which are offered at Seasons Salon and Spa

What is Style?

In my opinion style comes from within, one can truly express themselves through their choices of clothing, shoes, jewelry, and handbags.

What is your definition of True Luxury?

The ultimate luxury is staying in a five star hotel where the staff remembers your name and what you like, and has a view to die for. Luxury also could be having a vehicle that does everything but drive itself.

What is your most memorable moment since opening Seasons?

The most memorable moment for me since I opened my business would have to be when I was presented with Entrepreneur of the Year award, it was such a huge honor and something that I will never forget.

What do you love most about what you do?

I still perform services in my salon and it is so gratifying to make people feel better about themselves. I also enjoy providing opportunities for my staff that they would not get anywhere else in Lexington, such as going to Fashion Week in NY to do hair for runway models.

Advice for women entrepreneurs

My advice for women entrepreneurs would be to remember that we are built to be strong and never lose focus on what your vision is no matter what obstacles get in your way.

Living Proof

March 8, 2009

livingproof

Living Proof No Frizz treatments were created “for the purpose of applying advanced technology to solve the toughest beauty challenges from a completely fresh perspective”  – by a team of MIT scientists using new molecules and cutting edge technology.

The straight-making products eliminate frizz while conditioning dry or damaged hair, without adding ‘weight’ or greasiness that often goes along with use of a silicone-based product.

Check out the website’s diagnostic tool to see which product will work best for your hair type & read step by step instructions (my only complaint is that there weren’t instructions on the bottle), then purchase online or head to Sephora & have a great hair day!
