Rachel Zoe joins Bravo

I was clicking around Bravo this afternoon in anticipation of Project Runway tonight, and came across this…
“The woman who helms every major look in Hollywood is coming to Bravo! The Rachel Zoe Project will follow Rachel and her team as they juggle taking on a new design business while still maintaining her A-list stylist services. Who knows, maybe some of her celebrity clients will make a cameo.”
The show sounds like more of a documentary about how Rachel manages her career than a makeover show. I will definitely tune in, but I hope they’re not going to compare Zoe or her style to that of the always impeccable, exquisite taste and styling of Tim Gunn.
Her style seems more “California” to me, but I’ll keep an open mind…

How do you define style? Any style Advice?
Style to me is being complete from head to toe! Style is the complete package from the outfit to the purse…enter b’s purses – without being too overdone. Today you can have so much fun with your handbag/accessories – you can now keep your clothes simple and spice it up with your bags. If you go simple with your outfit you can have fun with accessories!

What motivates you the most?
Family - my daughter and my husband – and being able to have a company our children could be involved in someday. Also knowing we are empowering women to do something themsleves and make their own money!
Any advice to young women today dreaming of starting a business?
Just do it! Women’s businesses are growing – but not quickly enough. You need passion and women have so much passion for things they love. Be wise don’t sink too much money to start anything, sales are what get you going and too much upfront might mean it isn’t that great of an idea in the first place. You can always find the money later once you get the idea out there. Getting up and saying ‘I am willing to make the sacrifice to do this and get it going,’ is the first step. It will take work and there will be ups and downs, but the rewards are worth it!
